We’ve already been in Papua over one month!
And…”one month” means we are finished with Unit One (of six) of our language program! We had our first exam this morning. It went very well, so we will soon be moving on to Unit Two. Praise God above! (Anyone who has tried to learn a new language in his or her 30s/40s will agree!)
In the mean time – in just a couple of days we get to finally visit the Helimission base where we will be stationed up in the mountains – in Wamena. We are very excited! We’ll get to see the helicopters, our house, the school, see our co-workers there and meet some new people.
There will surely be lots of pictures to post from that trip.
In the mean time, here are some pictures from our last week or so. We had the privilege of attending the wedding of one of our local co-workers, Barrel, and also attending church in a little lakeside village called Yallo, the home village of our language teacher’s husband.
*Prayer update – we are all healthy again! Thanks so much for being on our team. It really is more encouraging than a blog post can say. We truly love each one of you and are so blessed that you are working with us.
The Sunday before, which was Mother’s Day in the U.S., we visited the church in a small village on the other side of the big lake here. It was a nice treat away from the hot, noisy, dusty city that we spend each day in.
